THE WORLD PREMIERE OF

SHOW OF FORCE BY BEVERLY COYLE

“THE HARDEST DEPLOYMENT IS COMING HOME”

In the backroom of a bar four ex-military women face the realities of reintegrating into society. Tensions rise as their military experiences clash with their friends, families, each other, and their new civilian life.

Show of Force was our workshop production in September 2018. We are thrilled to now bring this world premiere play to the stage with the help of our producing partners Denver Arts & Venues, and Syncopated Production Group.

“Very special recognition is extended to Mary Ragan, Executive Director of the Psychotherapy and Spirituality Institute (PSI). Ten years ago Dr. Ragan began interviewing young women veterans whose stories are the basis and heart of this play. She subsequently found numerous New York City actors and directors as well as funding in order to provide over forty community evenings of In Our Own Voice: Women Veterans Tell Their Story. “

LOST CREATURES BY MELISSA LUCERO MCCARL

Lost Creatures follows the evening in May of 1978 when British theatre critic Kenneth Tynan met his long time cinematic idol Louise Brooks.  He travels to her dingy little apartment in Rochester, NY where she has sequestered herself for many years.  He is there ostensibly to write a profile on Brooks for the New Yorker, but he discovers that they are kindred spirits, and in spite of an age gap of twenty years, theirs becomes an unlikely love story discovered through a marathon dialogue about sex, philosophy, art, and criticism.  There is also a silent third character, Lulu, (based on Louise’s role in her most famous silent film Pandora’s Box) who drives the action of the play.
