Melissa McCarl-Director
Melissa has directed for theaters all over Denver. Favorite productions include Anna in the Tropics at the Aurora Fox, Swingtime Canteen and The King and I at THAC, Tell Martha Not to Moan for the Athena Project, Pure Piaf at the Denver Civic and The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe at the Mizel. She is best known as the author and director of the play Painted Bread about the tumultuous life of Frida Kahlo and Diego Rivera. Her play Lost Creatures will be read on November 16 as part of And Toto too's reading series. It is an imagining of the night that the British theater critic Kenneth Tynan met the aged silent film star Louise Brooks. They spend the evening dishing on Hollywood, debating sex, politics and philosophy, and chasing ghosts.
Jeffrey Atherton (Ray)
Jeffrey’s 40 year acting/singing career has taken him around the world and around the United States and from radio to film to television. A few of his memorable experiences include performing Phantom for the authors (Murray Yeston & Author Kopit), several tours to Singapore, Kuala Lampur, Hong Kong, Taiwan and Korea with Sound of Music and South Pacific and 3 different productions of My Fair Lady Since migrating from NYC to Denver in ’97 Jeffrey has been active in the local theatre circuit. Playing Fagin in Oliver! (Town Hall Arts Center), Charles in Pippin (Arvada Center), Diego Rivera in Painted Bread(Theatre On Broadway) to name a few. Always eager to share his experience in the performing arts, Jeffrey teaches acting & singing with his wife Natalie at Namaste Works Vocal & Acting Studio. Jeffrey’s most memorable role of all has been starring as DAD & HUSBAND to Natalie, Justin, Raechal & Serea for the past 16 years!
Suzanna WEllens (Alice)
Suzanna appears regularly in staged readings with the One Night Stand Theatre Company. Recent fully staged roles include Mom in Unmarried in America (The Vintage), Frankie in Christmas Belles (Spotlight), and Squealer in Animal Farm (Germinal Stage). She has studied Acting with Chicago Shakespeare, and many different styles of Dance. Suzanna teaches Drama through Aurora Fox Theatre's Education Program.
Glenna Kelly (Lily)
Over the years Glenna has performed at the Denver Center, Arvada Center, Avenue Theatre, Galleria Theatre and the Aurora Fox. She recently appeared in Snow Falling on Cedars at the Vintage Theatre. Favorite roles include Joanne in Company; Gertrude in Hamlet; Kate in Sylvia; and Lee in Stanton’s Garage, which was presented n a real garage in downtown Denver.

Mark Collins (Steve)
Mark is glad to take part in And Toto too's Reading Series. Roles of late include Boolie in Driving Miss Daisy at Cherry Creek Theatre; Wesley in Jerusalem at The Edge Theater, where he also appeared as Pato in The Beauty Queen of Leenane; Roy Disney in A Public Reading of an Unproduced Screenplay About the Death of Walt Disney, and Gibson in Mr. Burns — a post-electric play, both with The Catamounts; Johnnypateenmike in Miners Alley Playhouse’s The Cripple of Inishmaan; and Preacher in square product theatre's SLAB. Mark holds an MFA in Acting from the University of North Carolina-Greensboro.
Sean Verdu (Eddie)
Sean is very excited to return to And Toto too Theatre and perform in this lovely staged reading. Some of Sean's previous roles include Orpheus in Eurydice, Carter in The Greater Good, and Naz in Mercury Fur. When not performing on stage, Sean is a Middle School P.E. teacher and Athletic Director. Sean and his wife just welcomed their first child in early August and are so stoked to meet the little guy! He would like to thank his wife, Marie, for her never-ending support and love. Enjoy the show!
Becca Fletcher (Rayette)
Becca recently returned to the stage this July as Mrs. Tottendale in The Drowsy Chaperone with the Northglenn Players after focusing many years on the role of “Mom”. Favorite past performances include Reno Sweeney in Anything Goes with Performance Now, The Mute in The Fantasticks at Town Hall Arts Center, Maggie Jones in 42nd Street and Woman 1 & 2 in Closer Than Ever with Main Street Players. During the holidays, she performs with The Original Dickens Carolers. You can catch her this fall late nights at Vintage Theatre in Gene Kato’s comedy Hamlet: Prince of Pork.
